OUR HISTORY

Trust Fund of the Association du 22e Inc.

The Association manages its financial assets via a trust identified as the Trust Fund of the Association of the 22nd Inc. The trust's income comes from member contributions, profits made from holding the concert under the stars at Citadelle de Québec, and contributions by the Régie du Royal 22e Régiment for military members of the units at the rate of $1.00, per member.

Birth of Fondation Général Vanier

After the death of General Vanier, the fund was renamed with the agreement of his family. Fondation Général Vanier was officially created and registered on November 8. His initial assets then amount to $9 545.

First initiatives

The Foundation awards a first scholarship of $250 to a child of a member of the Regiment and a donation of $1 000 to veterans of the Hôpital Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. It is also developing its first support programs.

Program development

The organization structures its assistance programs to meet the needs of the regimental family and partner organizations, while continuing to grow its assets.

Resource growth

Assets increase through individual donations, United Way support and events. The Foundation consolidates its supporting role within the community.

Continuation of the mission

The Foundation is adapting its programs and strengthening its commitment to members of the Regiment, their families and partner organizations, in a context of organizational transformation. Following a realignment in November 2020 the Foundation is officially registered under the name of Fondation Général Vanier from Royal 22e Régiment.

The Foundation today

The Foundation continues its mission with diversified programming serving the members of the Regiment, their families and the regimental community.

Transparency

Together, with full transparency

Transparency is at the heart of the relationship of trust that the Fondation Général Vanier maintains with its donors, its beneficiaries and the broader regimental family. In practice, this means that we make public our minutes, our summary budgets, our financial statements and the state of our trust accounts so that everyone can see where the money entrusted to the Foundation is going. Each donation is administered according to clear policies (conflicts of interest, donations, investments) and is subject to regular reporting to the Board of Directors.
